Top 5 Dog Breeds That Are So Funny & Endearing

Aptly labelled as man’s best friends, dogs are considered as being the best companions courtesy of their devotion, loyalty and faithfulness but did you know that some of them could cause you to smile just by their appearance? Indeed there are dog breeds in the world which could be called downright funny to the point that you could burst out laughing by simply looking at them and they are listed as follows –

Hungarian by origin, Puli is so covered with long threadlike fur that it could well be mistaken for a mop if it lies still on the floor. Funny though the long, twisted and usually black fur might cause them to appear, its water-resistant nature protects the animal from the dangers of humidity and moisture. That said, Pulis are as quick and as loyal to their masters as any other dog breed not to mention headstrong enough to chase their objective to the point of fulfillment.

Similar to Puli and Komondor is Bergamasco, a sheepdog sporting a mop-like coat that may vary from gray and silver-gray to black and brown shades and could truly make you laugh just by dawdling in front of you. Given that this breed originated in the Italian portion of the Alpine Mountains, its fur acts as an effective camouflage against unwanted predators.

A native of Mexico, what renders this pooch truly funny is its hairless coat such that it appears as though it has been clean shaven. This breed is also credited with being one of the oldest as Xoloitzcuintli finds mention in Mayan, Aztec and Toltecan texts as being a lovable and faithful creature. Of course, it might have also served as the court-jester, namely someone responsible for making everyone laugh.

Neapolitan Mastiff

At first glance, members of this dog breed appear so wrinkled that you could not be blamed for forming the impression that these might be the most lethargic of the species. However, what you would soon discover is that the saggy appearance is just a deception because the Neapolitan Mastiff is a brave and intrepid warrior that fought alongside Roman legions in olden times. And if you are thinking that getting away after teasing them might be the easiest thing in the world, do think twice because these are powerful creatures that are unmindful of their true strength.

Terrier Family

There are at least three members of the terrier family that could brighten your day with laughter, namely Bedlington, Dandie Dinmont and Bull terrier. A fact that renders the situation even more hilarious is that in spite of being members of the same breed, the three types could not have been more different from each other. While the Bedlington could easily be mistaken for a lamb courtesy its wooly fur, dangling ears and soulful eyes, the Bull is best known for its head that resembles an egg as also its bouncy strides. The Dandie Dinmont is counted among the funny dog species due to a poof marking the top of its head, short legs and a body that is long enough so as to give the feeling that someone might have stretched it.

Apart from being funny, there is indeed a trait that all these species share, namely being smart and reliable and this proves that there is definitely much more to them than what meets the eye.
